Our Story

Welcome to Drift Glass & Ceramics, where creativity and laughter come together to create unique pieces of fused glass and ceramic art. It started in 2017 when Amanda and Alison were regularly walking the dogs along the rugged coastline of Northumberland, whilst collecting driftwood and sea glass an idea was born. "Let's use our hands, minds and heart and create art"

Driftwood, sea glass, reclaimed wood, textiles, fused glass and ceramics...... All explored and enjoyed but only two endured, the latter, fused glass and ceramics are a real passion and Drift Glass & Ceramics became a small handmade business, working from a home studio in rural North Northumberland.

Amanda, a professional trainer has taken her passion for supporting others and combined this with the art and has run fused glass and ceramic workshops over the last 6 years. Alison, a civil engineer has turned her engineering precision towards clay and now is an avid ceramic sculptor, creating hares, owls and of course puffins.

We sell our art across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders and recently have been asked to become local artists with The National Trust, supplying Seahouses and Lindisfarne with fused glass and ceramic puffins.
